The Chapel Bridge is a must see historical attraction of Lucerne. The bridge wooden bridge along with the stone water tower nearby have become an unofficial symbol of Lucerne. The bridge contains over one hundred paintings depicting the towns history. Some of these paintings as well as portions of the bridge were destroyed by a fire. The bridge has been repaired and the paintings lost are in the process of being replicated as accurately as possible.

This is a great attraction because it is free and will not interfere with other travel plans because you may go any time you want. It is still used today as a way for pedestrians to cross the water.
